Pro Se Divorce Workshop

The VLP in conjunction with Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic is offering a Do It Yourself Divorce Workshop on October 6, 2010. The workshop begins at 6:00 pm and is held at the Main Branch of the Allen County Public Library.

The workshop is supervised by local attorneys. The attorneys will provide instructions on how to complete and file the forms. They will also explain how a do it your self divorce works and what to expect when representing yourself and during Hearings.

The workshop is open to low income individuals in Allen County. You must register to participate. Please call the Volunteer Lawyer Program at 260-407-0917 or the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic at 260-456-8969 for more information or to see if you qualify. There is a $25 fee to attend.

Oral Arguments

The VLP is hosting the Indiana Court of Appeals Traveling Oral Arguments program to Fort Wayne on September 28, 2010. This is an opportunity for residents to learn about the state’s judicial branch. A a panel of appellant court judges will hear an actual case filed in the appellant court. Follow­ing oral arguments, members of the Court and attorneys will answer questions about the justice system. The VLP has extended invita­tions to area high school and college students, however this event is open to the public. The program should be interesting for judges and attorneys, as well.
